Day 5

So, yet again we woke up early and headed out for a trip to the north shore. The countryside on that side of the island is like a completely different world. Lush green grass with beautiful trees everywhere. We stopped of at a beach to take some pictures and stretch the legs. After, we continued on a made it to Giovanni’s shrimp truck. I ended up grabbing a smoothie that was pretty delicious. After we all had our bellys full we left for Matsumoto’s to grab shaved ice to compare to Wiola. Let’s just say that hands down Wiola is the winner. Took the scenic route around the island and went into Honolulu to start shopping. Three hours later we were all done and headed out for drinks/appetizers for Jeff’s birthday. Did a little bit of shopping after and then headed out to Blue Lagoon for a few hours of drinks and KARAOKE!! I was killing it on the mic…. No joke. We had a blast and it was a perfect last night on the island. I’m ready for a good nights sleep in my own bed! We have to be at the airport in less than 12 hours… Time for bed. Enjoy!!

Day 4

Aloha, yet another day is nearing end while I’m on vacation. Woke up early again to pick up the rental car. We started the morning at Zippy’s for breakfast… Let’s just say its the Hawaiian Denny’s. After grabbing a loco moco we headed to Makapuu to hike up to an amazing view. We had a chance to see a whale while headed down from the summit. After the hike we moved on to Lanikai to spend some time in the white sand beach. The sand was amazing… It felt like I was walking on a velvet carpet! Jeff and I took a kayak out to a remote island… We ran into some issues on the return trip and ended up tipping over in open water. It was a frightening experience… But we both walked away from it perfectly fine. Picked up some shaved ice on the way back towards Waikiki. Stopped off at Ala Moana mall to grab dinner and do some shopping. Not too sure what is planned for tonight… But tomorrow is going to be fun filled!!! Enjoy!

Day 3

Woke up bright and early yet again. Headed out to Hanauma Bay for an early snorkeling session. Spent a few hours out there and spotted a bunch of cool things floating around. I have a ton of video that I will be editing when I get back home. After we went to clean up and get ready for our luau with Germaine’s. The luau was one of the best shows I have ever been to. It is a must do for any first timers to the island. We walked around Waikiki for a bit after getting back. It’s time for a few hours of rest. We are heading out to North Shore tomorrow since we will have the rental car. Enjoy!!

Day 2

As we kick back in bed resting up for tonight’s festivities I figured it would be a good time for an update. Day 2 started off with an early wake up to go hike Diamond Head. We stopped off at McDonalds for breakfast prior to catching a ride with Juan. Juan was the greatest taxi driver evar. We played trivia with him for the entire ride. The hike was pretty easy and lead to an amazing view. Took some pictures before heading back down to get a ride from Juan to the international market. Walked around there for a bit and ate at Puka Dog. Went off to the beach for a few hours after a quick change. Happy hour at Hula Grill was next on the list… Food is great, service is even bettter… A must go if you are here. We are headed out to do some shopping now and going to Mai Tai Bar for drinks. Enjoy!!

Day 1

Aloha from Waikiki! We got in around 1pm local time. Headed out to our hotel and couldn’t check in. Decided to go grab a bite to eat to kill some time. After getting our rooms we headed to the beach to chill for a few hours. Had dinner after and did a bit of shopping. Back in our rooms now getting ready for tonights festivities!!! Enjoy!

Mid flight thoughts.

As we cruise at 30,000 feet above the sea I am thinking about my past leading up to this moment in time. I am looking forward from this moment on and ensuring myself that I will live life without second guessing any decisions I have made or will make. New Lens Day!!!

After being super bummed that I slept on a good deal. I woke up with a fresh start and began to search for the lens I wanted. After going through craigslist I stumbled upon the exact lens I was looking for. It was as simple as sending out an email and waiting literally 3 minutes for a call. The gentleman said it was still for sale. I quickly got up and called Ruel telling him to get ready to go and I would be picking him up in 30 minutes. We rolled out to San Leandro and picked it up. So far, it is amazing… I have always been a prime shooter for the most part….. but having a really nice/fast zoom is awesome. It is so much more versatile. The one downside is the heft of this particular lens… but, I was well aware of what I was getting into. Ruel and I met up with Hung for lunch at Kono Grill and then we moved on to a snack from Sonic’s. Photos below.. Enjoy!!
